PATROL

CRAMERTON POLICE OPERATIONS DIVISION

The Operations Division is the largest division within the Cramerton Police Department. Its primary responsibility is patrol and it provides uniformed law enforcement services to the community. Uniformed police officers are generally the first contact a citizen has with a law enforcement agency. These initial contacts will frequently leave the citizen with a lasting impression of the department and it is our intention to make that impression a positive one. Our mission is to provide the highest quality law enforcement service in the most effective and efficient manner possible.

Patrol Structure

The patrol division is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Patrol is divided into 2 Teams of officers, who work a specific Watch. Each Team is supervised by a Police Sergeant whose primary mission is to oversee the daily activities of the patrol officers under their direction and to be a resource and coordinator of field activities for their Team. The Department divides the Town into 2 Patrol Districts and 13 Patrol Zones. Officers are assigned a specific district each day they work.

Patrol Districts and Zones

Patrol Districts are divided into a North (District 1) and South (District 2) area with the Norfolk-Southern Railway being the division line. Patrol Zones are then divided in each District. Patrol Officers assigned to a particular district are responsible for all police response within the district’s zones. Crime data is kept by individual Patrol Zone.
